Growing Wild

Hello everyone, or anyone who actually reads this! So here is how the past week has gone for me. Most of the time I have been doing nothing, just applying for summer jobs, going to interviews, sitting on the couch, walking my dog Dalanie, and going on jogs. Speaking of taking my dog on walks, I found this little wild strawberrie patch in our neighborhood and now its my new favorite spot! hehe....As you can see most of my summer so far has been spent with myself, no its not what summer typically looks like, but I'm okay with that.

I had been waiting for yesterday for a while, because Thursdays are the day when the college group at my Church meets >> its called the Jordan. The message was on Jesus of course, to narrow it more it was on Luke 2: 41-52 . This was part of the "4G" series of messages, this week was "G for Growing". We all hate to become old and do everything to stop it. But in fact with becoming old comes wisdom. When his parents found him and asked him to come with them, he could have told them he was busy and would catch up with them later, but he was obedient and went. Because Obedience is a characteristic needed for growth in anything. especially in Faith, I realized last night that I need to be obedient in order for my faith to thrive and to grow. If I am not obedient to people here on earth, then how could I be obedient to God. I want to live for him serving my King, and doing everything he tells me to, but in order to obey I have to start by listening! >> also Proverbs 13:20 goes with this passage.

After Chruch a group of us went to the Yellow Deli and had just hungout. It was good to see everyone, I had missed some of those girls. (and I got to meet some of there new guy friends!) Oh and some good news Nicole, and Maria decided that we need to revive our group blog "Lace of Our Lives" this summer! So look out for those new posts! and Links! to that blog! Mmmmm, what else? Oh I know yesterday I made four really cute cup cakes, and I have cute pictures of them so I will wait to tell you all about that! Tomorrow I am babysitting a little boy Finn. And after I have Lorelai 3rd birthday party, which I am actually quite excited for!
Nicole and I at the Yellow Deli ( actually this picture is old, but dont tell!shhhh.)

So you all have a few little things in my life to look forward to... oh and plus i think it is about time for some more outfit posts for those are on the way aswell!

Sincerely Sophie

We shall "sea" what is in store for Summer!

All great things come to an end, and today was the end of my freshman year. Actually I had finished class earlier in the week, but today was when I said my goodbyes. I spent the last night at my beautiful school with some close friends filled with a jammed packed night. We ate in the caf, then we had a bonfire at NMC on campus, we went to Seaside Donuts watched drunk people and enjoyed each others company. Cleaning up and packing room 707 really made it sink in, that I am leaving and will never be a freshman again. Reminiscing on all the past year had been sad, reliving the memories and realizing how much I have grown. Today I packed up Trixy ( my car) to the very top, with all that she could fit said goodbye to my friends and hit the road.  Having my rear view mirror was blocked by all my clothes and stuff there was no looking back on the way home. Listening to All Time Low and Taylor Swift driving home, but I was sad.  Although once I saw the 1/2 mile to Oceanside...  the excitement for being home began to hit me and I started thinking about all that summer would hold. Then taking the exit off Tamarack, smelling the salt from the beach in the air and seeing the long-boarders skating down the road. It reminded me of how much I've missed the laid back lifestyle of home. I'm glad to be back!

Love isn’t finding a perfect person. It’s seeing an imperfect person perfectly. Love isn’t about expensive dinner dates, jewelry and even sex. Love is finding the person in this beautifully messed up world who appreciates, cares and adores you, your flaws included. Love is finding someone in your life who make you smile and laugh more than anyone else ever will. Love is inspiration, direction and happiness in your heart. Love is what causes us to lose our concentration. It’s the daydreaming in class and dreaming at night that leaves us smiling, giddy and with a heart filled with butterflies. Love is bringing out the best in a person, knowing they accept you for everything you are. Love is the moments when you catch yourself smiling for no reason, knowing you never want that beautiful smile to leave your face. More importantly, love is why we’re here on Earth; to have two people share one heart.
My grandparents are the perfect example. both men and women of God and eachothers best friends!

Petities

Waking up at eleven forty was glorious this morning, I have not been able to sleep-in, for a long time and it was much needed. But soon after waking up I realized the reality of the day that I would need to work on homework today. My new roommate and I both have a terribly long paper to write so we decided to get serious and go to Starbucks to crack it out. We have been here for over an two hours and since we got "so much done" I decided to teat us to a little treat, literally little. We both got a little Starbucks Petites. Maci got a mini birthday cake donut and I got a petite carrot cake cupcake that was quite delicious. But since in reality facebook blogging and the cute Barista have been a distraction all afternoon. I only have a paragraph done... errrr
yummmm!

Well wish me luck on finishing it!

Beautiful Life

Hot weather, sandy beach, living in a bathing suit, tans and sunburns... oh I can’t wait. So school is almost out and unlike every other freshman I could not be more excited! I really enjoy school and everything to do with it, but at the same time I cannot wait to be able to be an adult... well I don’t know after typing that out it makes it so real... but not a full blown adult Idk. I still love to have fun and do spontaneous things in college... but maybe just the chance to make a life for myself out on my own. Sometimes I wish that I were a senior but at the same time... I know I will have a lot more fun here before I go. Summer is just around the corner and I cant wait to see what it will bring me.

So the past few weeks have been really… um just good overall. After class yesterday I got to go on a run and do yoga... yay! I miss having time to workout. I turned in one of my big papers this week and I feel free…. and have one paper left as well as finals and a couple test... oh but the minor details.... heheh ;)

Last week I went home for a few days to apply for jobs, but I also got to hangout with Sarah and Julia that I was stoked about we went to get a feather in my hair.... (Yes, I joined the flock!), Out for dinner, and we went to the San Marcos Coffee House, which was bliss, I got a white raspberry coffee which was surprisingly quite tasty! Mmmmmm yum! : D

At school this week we all played this game called Zombies Vs. Humans which it starts with one zombie and then if your a human and get tagged then you turn into a zombie and have to get other humans... trying to make the humans instanced. The school was like a battlefield all week. It was crazy there were Neff guns, headbands, and tested friendships... ha-ha okay maybe not the last one! But it was crazy, I didn’t last long I turned into a zombie on the first day boo :/

Also on Monday in my art class we got to learn a dance. It was to Foot Loose.... a movie, which I have never seen, but after learning the fun dance and having the song in my head all week it made me want to see the film too!!! It sound so fun and upbeat... not to mention it is an 80's film even better! Ha
Purple oversized vest- borrowed from Julia

Brielle, Jessica and I took a bus to the beach!
I made cucumber water today.
Oh yesterday I sat outside reading a book and online window shopping on “ModCloth” and “Urban” while I was watching some soccer boys practice !

In Sophie's "world of love is pretty none existent... which I have mixed feelings about but I cant change my circumstance.... or can I ... Well actually I have been praying and trying to be more BOLD lately and just go for it with boys and stuff.... I have yet to do anything, but never the less it still is the plan!
BOLD

Well that is just a little recap of where I am right now... I know I really need to start bloggin daily or at least weekly, so the plan is for the summer that it will work like that when I am less busy!

Time for Pleasure

Waking up at 5 o'clock, doesn't sound like my kind of morning, but believe it or not I had such a great time doing it! Actually we woke up a bit before five and we went to the South Coast Plaza mall, just down the way a bit from school. And then this is where the fun of sitting on the could sidewalk and cold tile floor began. Tyra, Brielle and myself woke up this early, not because we are crazy or  for some super sale at the mall but because the new Microsoft store was having its opening... you may be thinking, what? why would they be there.... But you see they were giving out free Selena Gomez concert tickets! I was not a huge fan at first but I became one, her songs are so fun, catchy and uplifting .... for the most part. And so after a long morning we finally redeemed our golden tickets ( a.k.a our wrist bands for the concert) we got to come back to Vanguard and go to class... boo.

our 5 am faces yay!
Tyra, showing her love during our line time of boredom
I was sleepy, but once I got my coffee everything was okay again! :D
Be wear... the video below was taken at a unbeliveable hour of the day
before the sun had even risen up in the sky!
So the school week ended and Saturday was upon us. Which was the day of the concert! We drove to the place and got to stand in yet another line... but I made friends with some young 5, 12 and 11 year olds who were just as excited....( probably more) to go see Selena! They were fun and we ended up standing by them during the performance. It was short, but sweet and a great way to spend the Saturday!

filling up the tank....
